Chair Person to lead Gateshead and South Tyneside Music Education Hub

Gateshead and South Tyneside Music Education Hub is seeking a Chair Person to lead our existing Board at an exciting time for Music Education. The refreshed NPME is imminent and we are launching a new Music Inclusion strategy for the Hub, welcoming fresh new ideas to take our plans forward.

Gateshead and South Tyneside Music Education Hub is seeking a Chair to join our existing Board. The Hub has successfully delivered all 4 core and 3 extension roles for the NPME over the last 10 years, creating and implementing online teaching and resources during lockdown, and now managing a hybrid approach to delivery as we emerge out of the Pandemic.

We are in a healthy financial position moving into a new financial year, with strong, loyal support and buy in from schools, high levels of parental engagement for our ensembles and significant partnership support through our current board membership.

We recognise to achieve our aims, and delivery of the National Plan for Music Education, we need a wide and varied contribution to our thoughts, plans and ideas. The new Chair will help us with this, including increasing the diversity of our Board members over the coming years.

We welcome and encourage applications for this Chair role from anyone over the age of 18 from all sectors and backgrounds. We especially welcome and encourage applications from people with backgrounds currently underrepresented on our Board, particularly people who are Black, Brown or Minoritised, people from the LGBTQ+ community, or people who are disabled.
