This post is to work for Wandsworth Schools’ Music Service which serves Wandsworth schools as the lead partner of the Wandsworth Music Education Hub.

Wandsworth Schools’ Music Service is one of London’s leading music education providers. Through its team of 150 professional staff, it ensures that Wandsworth’s children and young people have access to an exceptional range of opportunities to learn musical instruments; sing; perform in ensembles and choirs; and progress to new levels of musical excellence.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and exceptional musician, who is passionate about music education, to help lead the next stage of development for the instrumental music service. As part of the role you will;

1. Provide a cohesive instrumental music service across the borough in accordance with music service/hub strategy.

2. Assist the Head of Music Service in all aspects of music service delivery in its role as lead partner of the Wandsworth Music Education Hub.

3. Act as Head of the Wandsworth Music Academy

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional musician, with experience of conducting and arranging music for orchestras and ensembles. You will have a proven track record in music education and the vision, drive and commitment to achieving the highest musical standards.

You will need to be flexible and have a willingness to work extended days and weekends to accommodate service needs – this includes Saturdays at the Wandsworth Music Academy, attendance at major events or concerts and accompanying music service ensembles on foreign tours.
