Area Manager, East Sussex Music (revised salary)

£43,454 to £45,743 per annum

We are seeking a dynamic and vibrant Area Manager from September 2018 to lead the strategic development of the Lewes and Eastbourne areas of East Sussex. The role is based at our Performing Arts Centre in Lewes and requires frequent travel across the west of the County.

East Sussex Music is the county music service and lead organisation of the East Sussex Music Education Hub, delivering musical instrument lessons to over 7000 students across the county each week.

Our services range from instrumental lessons in schools, bands and orchestras in our 4 Area Music Centres, first access instrumental lessons, our summer school and a wide range of instrumental and singing courses and events throughout the year.

We are proud to work in close partnership with nearly 200 schools across the county, developing outstanding musical opportunities for children and young people.

East Sussex Music is embarking on an exciting new phase in its 80-year history. We are seeking a dynamic and vibrant area manager from September 2018 to lead the strategic development of the Lewes and Eastbourne areas of East Sussex. The role is based at our Performing Arts Centre in Lewes and requires frequent travel across the west of the County.

As a member of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic plan in your area in line with organisation-wide priorities. You will lead of team of teachers, ensuring the continuous improvement of teaching and learning, motivating staff to deliver exceptional experiences for our students. You will work with stakeholders to develop new initiatives, innovate existing services and lead a range of projects and county-wide activities.

You will have considerable experience managing people through change and will be an outstanding communicator in schools, with parents and students alike. You will have strategies for driving up participation and retention levels of students and be able to use data to analyse and implement improvement strategies. Your creative inspiration and commitment to developing new opportunities for all styles and genres of music will be infectious, enabling you to establish yourself as an outstanding leader within a dynamic teaching and management team.
