£23.46 - £24.40 p/h

Job Details

£23.46 – £24.40 per hour. Initially 7 hours to cover a day of teaching but with scope to develop more.

You will be flexible and willing to commit to working for up to 36 weeks of the year, during and after school hours is essential, and potentially weekends too.

An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.

Flexible working supported where possible, teacher’s salary-related pension offered.

About the Role

You will be joining our Surrey Arts service who are responsible for the delivery and development of a county-wide arts programme.

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and committed teacher of mixed woodwind instruments, to include at least clarinet, saxophone and flute. You will join our thriving team of music tutors, and will be charged with teaching young musicians, and groups of varying ability in schools across East Surrey.

You will be expected to plan and deliver lessons as well as set appropriate learning objectives for your pupils. You may also be involved in projects helping to develop new and exciting ways to promote music lessons in Surrey.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Holds a recognised music diploma, degree, or other recognised qualification.
  • Possesses a specialist knowledge of their chosen instrument and is able to perform to a high standard.
  • Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Is aware of current initiatives in the current UK music education system.
