Youthwork in the Booth

  • 15th October 2026
  • 11:00 - 12:30
  • Online (Zoom)

A peer learning session where you’ll meet others working in the youth sector and help inform a new resource from Art Not Evidence.

This session will have an update on the new resource from Art Not Evidence, and then hold space for an open conversation to share any learnings and insights and have a deeper discussion.

Art Not Evidence has received a small amount of funding to create a resource, ‘Youthwork in the Booth’, for youth workers, teachers and facilitators to assist them in traversing the complex terrain of young people and their creative expression today. As the campaign working to stop the misuse of rap music as evidence in criminal trials, they are aware that lack of awareness around how expressing themselves could affect them not only in daily life, but unfortunately in the criminal legal system, is a serious problem. Youth workers are in a unique position to communicate this issue to young people in a way that is both engaging and non-threatening. They’re working in partnership with Queen Mary University.

This online learning event follows on from a session we had in earlier this year and will create a space where youth workers, music facilitators and young people can engage in conversations to unravel complex issues and draw inspiration from trailblazers in the youth and music industry.

We held a previous session in February with Art Not Evidence, Art Against Knives, The Music Works and AudioActive, and want to continue holding space for those working in this complex and important area.

This is a rescheuled session from a previous date last month.

The session will be recorded. This will be uploaded YouTube channel as a publicly accessible, edited video.
