Unpacking the Curriculum and Assessment Review: An online event for music teachers in England
With the Curriculum and Assessment Review (CAR) now published and the EBacc finally scrapped, this is a pivotal moment. Join us for a free, interactive consultation open to classroom teachers in England at all key stages.

Changes are coming to music education in England, and we’d love for you to help shape what happens next.
With the Curriculum and Assessment Review (CAR) now published and the EBacc finally scrapped, this is a pivotal moment. But what exactly does the CAR’s final report recommend for music, and how should the National Music Curriculum be reformed?
Join us on Saturday 17 January, 10am – 12.30pm for a free, interactive consultation open to classroom teachers in England at all key stages, where we’ll unpack these developments and explore what they mean for music in schools.
We’re delighted to welcome Sally Bacon, Co-Chair of the Cultural Learning Alliance, and Kevin Rogers, music education specialist, who will guide us through the key findings and the government’s response.
You’ll take part in breakout discussions, giving you the chance to share your views on what the government needs to prioritise so that music can truly flourish in every school, and what you want to see from a new National Music Curriculum.
