Transition in Music Education Conference (TIME), Lambeth Music Service

  • 23rd March 2017 - 23rd March 2017
  • 14:00 – 17:00 GMT
  • Royal Festival Hall
The TIME Conference is an opportunity for school leaders, music teachers/coordinators, music tutors, Lambeth Music Network partners, parents, students and arts organisations to explore the challenges faced by young musicians as they navigate several key points of transition in their busy lives. Led by London Music Masters (LMM) and featuring a range of key contributors, the conference will use the findings of LMM’s year-long transition research project with St Mary’s University, Twickenham as the impetus to explore how schools and arts organisations can better support transition, discuss ways young musicians can engage with continuation opportunities between primary and secondary schools and post sixteen, and review the progression routes available in Lambeth and beyond.
The conference is followed by a free concert in the Royal festival Hall Spirit Level at 6.00pm which features contemporary performances from schools and LMN partners.
Light refreshments provided.
