Teaching Classroom Music Through Singing: INTRO

  • 21st May 2020 - 18th June 2020
  • 10:00 - 16:00 both days
  • London

A highly practical two-day course for all involved in primary music delivery in the classroom.

Voices Foundation courses are for anyone teaching music in early years or primary settings or for those leading choirs in KS1, 2 & 3. They are effective as a stand-alone training opportunity, or can act as a boost to a Voices Foundation programme you are part of in-school. Participants will develop their understanding of teaching music, learn how to implement music in their setting and take away practical ideas and resources which they can use immediately.

Led by Carole Kendall, TCMTS: Intro is the introductory course in our progressive series of Teaching Classroom Music Through Singing courses. The course guides delegates through the “building blocks” of basic musicianship and provides a practical tool-kit on how to deliver this in the classroom. Ideal for teachers and practitioners new to the approach or for anyone looking for a refresher.

More about TCMTS: This series of 2-day courses provides a solid grounding in our singing-based approach to teaching primary music. Drawing on the Kodály method, our well-established approach provides any teacher (incl. class teachers or TAs without any musical experience) with the tools to deliver a highly effective & progressive class music curriculum. You can choose to attend one, two or all three courses in the same year. (NB. These 3 courses replace the old Voices Foundation 5-day course.)
