Conference Theme 

At this exciting new event, we will take the opportunity to reflect and consider how we as music educators can support our young learners through transition points on their musical journeys and to help them overcome barriers to be the best possible musicians at every stage in their school life and beyond.

Who is this Conference for?

The event is suitable for music teachers from all sectors, including primary and secondary schools, sixth form/FE colleges, music services, and universities.

Choice of a range of interactive breakout sessions including:

  • Topical discussion and debate led by leading practitioners: musical progression – transitioning from primary to secondary school; addressing the decline of GCSE and A level Music.
  • Learn about practical ways in which the RNCM can help support your students’ progression: RNCM Young Strings, RNCM Engage, Popular Music auditions at higher level, psychological development and mental health in the transitions to and from HE, music teacher training and CPD.
  • Practical workshops led by RNCM staff to help boost your teaching skills, including conducting/leading an ensemble, singing, composition, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, and music technology and blended learning.

An early bird rate of just £45 (£37.50 + VAT) for bookings received and paid for by 1 April 2019. This covers entrance to the conference, lunch and refreshments
