Primary Music Conference

  • 25th February 2019 - 25th February 2019
  • 9.00 – 15.00
  • Savoy Suite, County Hall, Preston

Join us for an inspirational music conference with educational consultant and former Head Teacher, Dame Reena Keeble, aimed at all teachers interested in music in the primary sector.  During the conference new assessment materials commissioned by Lancashire Music Service will be launched.

Dame Reena is one of the UKs leading educational consultants and led the research for the report Effective Primary Teaching Practice (2016).

Lancashire Music Service commissioned a small group of experienced Subject Leaders in Music to look at reporting and assessment in music.

This working party produced and piloted system ‘designed by teachers for teachers’.

During the afternoon there will be practical workshops packed with ideas to take away with you:

  • Emma Williams: Developing singing throughout school
  • Upbeats: Composition in the primary classroom
  • Lazy Mondays: Song writing workshop
  • Ben Rapp: Using Garage Band to support musical learning
  • Joanna Mangona: Charanga Music Resources
  • Paul Bowden and Sarah Hargreaves: assessment in music

A great opportunity to develop and enhance music in your school.
