Calling all primary teachers who feel they are ‘not musical!’

This two-day intensive course will develop the musical skills, knowledge and understanding that you need to start teaching music with confidence. The focus of this course is on your own personal musical development. Through a mixture of whole class, small group and one-to-one activities, we will help you understand and recognise the ‘interrelated dimensions of music’, will develop your singing voice (no solos required!), and we will even teach you to read music! At the end of the course you will be assigned a mentor, who will provide e-mentoring (email and/or skype) for two terms as you start to use your new musical skills in the classroom.

What’s included?

  • Two day intensive CPD course with refreshments (not lunch)
  • Two terms e-mentoring
  • Completion Certificate
  • Final report from your mentor for use in your professional development file.

Course Leader: Dr Elizabeth Stafford
Dr Stafford is Senior Lecturer in Professional Studies at Leeds College of Music, Programme Leader for the Level 4 Certificate for Music Educators at CPD Centre West Midlands, and Director of Music Education Solutions Ltd.
