Pathways into Industry Discussion

  • 16th May 2024
  • 4pm - 5pm
  • Online (Zoom)

Music Mark would like to talk to classroom, instrumental and vocal teachers to find out more about their thoughts on supporting children and young people to develop knowledge and skills to move into the music industry (in its broadest sense).

Music Mark is working closely with a range of organisations such as Youth Music, UK Music, Awards for Young Musicians as well as government departments DfE and DCMS to collate evidence and formulate a plan of action around ‘Pathways to Industry’. The initial discussions came out of the English National Plan for Music Education but have expanded a little wider and as such we are all engaging our different constituents in some data collection and experience gathering to feed into this work.

With this session Music Mark would like to talk to instrumental and vocal teachers to find out more about their thoughts on supporting children and young people to develop knowledge and skills to move into the music industry in its broadest sense, as well as exploring the issues around the routes available.

To keep the session manageable and allow all those participating to share their experiences and advice we have limited the number who can attend the session.  We will open a waiting list, and if numbers on that list are significant we will look to run a second session.
