Music Mark Youth Voice Series – 2: Youth Voice and your EDI strategy

  • 11th November 2021
  • 3pm - 4pm
  • Online

Organisations across the music education sector are working towards Equity, Diversity and Inclusion goals. But while protected characteristics such as ethnicity, gender and disability are often the focus of our EDI efforts, age is also an important factor. We know it’s important to ensure there’s a diversity of voices involved in our organisation’s decision-making, and with young people often the beneficiaries of our work, it’s even more crucial that their voices are heard. Our panelists will talk about their Youth Voice initiatives through the lens of EDI, and share how the voices of the young people they work with have helped make their organisations more inclusive. Followed by a Q&A session.

Chair: Carmel Cardona, Stitch Your Parachute

Tamzyn French, Kinetika Bloco
Sarisha Kumar, Poet In the City, National Producers Taskforce
Esmé Flinders, Croydon Youth Arts Collective
Tom Inniss, Voice Magazine/Upstart Projects
