Music, Interaction, and Play: New Resources for Music-Making with People with PMLD
Through examples, discussion, and practical reflection, learn about the best ways to support inclusive music making for learners with PMLD.
Join Peter Imray and Dr Rosie Rushton for a dynamic and thought-provoking online webinar exploring the new edition of the Equals Music Curriculum, designed for learners with PMLD, Complex Learning Disabilities and Severe Learning Disabilities, and the Musical Play Framework designed with, and for, people with PMLD.
Peter Imray will share ‘My Music’, the 2nd edition of the EQUALS Music Curriculum. My Music concentrates individual learners’ engagement with rhythm, is deliberately written to take the mystery out of the music, and is suitable for all pupils and for all teachers.
Dr Rosie Rushton will celebrate the launch of the Musical Play Framework website, a resource designed to support staff understanding and implementation of Musical Play sessions. She will share insight into how Musical Play can support engagement, foster curiosity and create collaborative musical and playful opportunities.
Soundabout will share resources that have developed over the past decade designed for both young people and adults with complex needs.
Through examples, discussion, and practical reflection, attendees will leave with an enhanced understanding of inclusive music-making and innovative strategies to embed meaningful musical experiences within their practice.
Who should attend?
