Do you want to develop your advisory and consultancy skills to support schools to improve their music provison?

This blended learning programme devised and led by experienced music education consultant Dr Liz Stafford is designed for advisors, consultants, trainers, and lead schools to help them to develop their skills in supporting and developing music education in other schools.
Session 1: Building a relationship of trust and credibility: In this session we consider the consultant’s mindset and how to balance expert knowledge with an enabling approach. We look at strategies for rapid rapport building and active listening to quickly establish a productive working relationship between a consultant and the school that they are supporting.
Session 2: Developing & delivering effective support strategies: This session looks at diagnostic tools and frameworks which support you at all stages of the consultancy journey. We consider how to ensure differentiated and tailored advice which takes into account the bespoke requirements of each particular school.
Session 3: Leading sustainable change and measuring impact: In this session we discuss longevity, capacity building, and leaving a legacy. We look at different measures of success, both quantative and qualitative, and how to devise an exit strategy that ensures that the work still continues once you have departed.
