Mental Health in Community & Music Education
Strengthen your mental health lens across all provision. This interactive session explores practical, holistic approaches that help reduce barriers, improve engagement and deepen inclusion in community and music education settings.

This 90-minute session draws on The Music Works’ experience embedding mental health as a golden thread across it’s education, open access and health programmes.
We will explore:
- Moving from logistic to holistic programme design
- Strengthening referral pathways and communication with families
- Reducing barriers to engagement for young people facing additional challenges
- Creating psychologically safe music spaces
- When and how to design discreet mental health programmes alongside open access provision
Participants will leave with greater clarity, confidence and practical strategies they can apply immediately within their own settings.
