An introductory course designed to guide those working in Music Hubs and Services through the fundamental principles of marketing.

Are you responsible for updating your organisation’s social media channels but don’t know where to begin? Have you been tasked with creating content for your website but are short on time? Perhaps you work in a music service with a limited marketing budget due to funding restrictions? We’re here to help.

Marketing Fundamentals with Music Mark is a six-week course which will introduce you to the fundamental principles of Marketing, from writing a marketing strategy to capturing data and evaluating your marketing activity. We’ll provide you with valuable insights on managing your social media presence, optimising your website for maximum search engine visibility, and crafting engaging emails. Through peer support and six interactive online sessions, we’ll equip those without any specialist marketing training with tips, techniques, and a solid foundation to enhance their communication and marketing impact with their Music Hub or Service.

Course Outline

The course will take place over 6 sessions on the following dates:

  • 12 June 2024
  • 19 June 2024
  • 26 June 2024
  • 3 July 2024
  • 10 July 2024
  • 17 July 2024

Each session runs 10.30am – 12.00pm and will not be recorded, so it’s important you are able to attend all sessions.

Who is the course for?

People working in music services who are responsible for some or all of their organisation’s marketing and communications, who have had little to no formal marketing training.

What will I learn?

Delivered by Music Mark’s Communications & Marketing team, this course explores a wide range of marketing principles which you’ll have a chance to practice in the session with your peers. Sessions are designed to be practical, interactive, and leave you with immediately actionable ideas.
