Two days of practical workshops, music making, discussion and reflection.
An opportunity to share your own practice and learn from your peers. Both days will focus on inclusive group-leading, which can be appropriate for classroom and/or community settings. The weekend will include planning and reflection, and you should leave the weekend inspired with new ideas and activities to take to your place of work.
From attending this training session, participants will get the opportunity to:
- Network with other teachers, practitioners, music leaders and community musicians from across the sector
- Discover practical ways of supporting all young people in varied settings through music making.
- Join open forum sessions to address common issues experienced by participants when delivering music making activities.
- Explore assistive music technology and adapted musical instruments with the aim to engage all young people within music making sessions.
- Gather new music making activity ideas including warm-ups and session openings, introduction to improvisation and creation, keep music making fun, ways of progression though play holding inclusion as a central focus throughout.
- Play music with peers to experience the positive effects that playing music has on all.
- An attendance certificate once the weekend course has been completed.
