Getting started with Creative Musicianship
Designed for music teachers across all settings, this session explores ways to support learners with Composing, Music Production and Songwriting and expressing their own musical ideas. Packed with information on the qualification structure and practical guidance to help you get started.

Whether you teach privately, work in a school or music hub/service, or support learners in a studio or community setting, this session will introduce you to a new way of recognising and developing musical creativity. It will explore how Creative Musicianship supports learners to compose, create and express their own musical ideas using a wide range of approaches covering Music Production, Composing and Songwriting.
Through guided input and practical examples, you will gain a clear understanding of the qualification structure, assessment approach and how it differs from more traditional pathways. The session will also focus on what this means for your teaching in practice, helping you feel confident to begin preparing learners for their first submissions.
This is a ‘getting started’ session, designed to give you the knowledge, ideas and reassurance you need to start offering Creative Musicianship.
