Future Sounds

As part of NMPAT’s new Youth Music funded project “Industrious”, we are running our first ever music industry experience day – “Future Sounds”.

This event is open to young musicians between the ages of 10 and 25 who are interested in all aspects of the contemporary music industry, including modern innovations in the realm of studio recording, digital audio software, and performance practice.

Throughout the day different sessions will be on offer including hands-on workshops, demonstrations, music-making opportunities and recording opportunities.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Please bring either your printed ticket or ticket on mobile device.

Is lunch or refreshments provided?

Lunch is not provided. Drinks will be available (tea, coffee, squash, water) throughout the day for free in the Waiting Room.

Will the event be fully supervised?

All sessions which are booked will be supervised. The time in-between sessions will not. Attendees will be responsible for getting to and from sessions. All attendees will be encouraged to use the Waiting Room in-between booked sessions. Parents and carers are welcome to accompany attendees and can use the Waiting Room whilst attendees are in sessions.

Should I bring my instrument?

Some of the sessions encourage you to bring along an instrument, but this is not a requirement. If you do not play an instrument or sing, you can still take part in the session. If you are bringing an instrument, we can store this for you whilst it is not needed.

I have access requirements and/or need additional support, how do I let you know?

The building is accessible via a ramped entrance from the car park, and there is a disabled toilet on site. The majority of the sessions are on the ground floor. (NB: The Cubase session and Live Lounge sessions are on the first floor and only accessed via a flight of stairs.)

What if I change my mind or can’t attend the event?

If for any reason you change your mind about which sessions to attend or can no longer attend, please do let us know, as we are running a waiting list. You can either email or cancel your order in the tickets section on your Eventbrite account.

What if the session I want to attend is fully booked?

We will be running a waiting list, in case of cancellations. So if you are unable to book a session as it is full please contact to join the waiting list.

Attend this event

The event is free, but booking is required. Many of the sessions are running 2 or 3 times throughout the day, so please check the times of the sessions before booking to ensure your selected sessions do not overlap.
