The Art of Songwriting

  • 12th November 2026
  • 11:00 - 12:30
  • Online (Zoom)

A beginner-friendly session with acclaimed songwriter Ruth-Anne.

Ruth-Anne is excited to run Youth Music’s first ever songwriting session, while expressing her own experience as a songwriter and answering some questions.

The masterclass will begin with 30-45 minutes of Ruth-Anne truthfully talking through her career amongst all the highs and lows, and will then proceed into a Q&A session.

Ruth-Anne is amongst the most acclaimed songwriters, having written global hits since 17, beginning with JoJo’s 2006 smash ‘Too Little, Too Late’, which reached the Top Five in both the US and UK. Since then, she has written era-defining songs for Britney Spears (‘Work Bitch’), One Direction (‘No Control’, ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’), Niall Horan (‘Slow Hands’, ‘Nice To Meet Ya’) and Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha (‘In The Name of Love’), among many others.
