Conductors for Change 2019: Conducting Day (South West)

  • 21st March 2019 - 21st March 2019
  • 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • King Edward VI Community College, Ashburton Road, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 5JX

Conductors for Change gives music leaders the tools, strategies and practical conducting techniques to set up a new instrumental ensemble, or develop an existing one in a mixed skills and instrument context. Created by a team of highly experienced music directors and educators this flexible programme of hands-on training is rooted in inclusive practice.

This face-to-face training day will give music teachers and leaders the opportunity to work with a mixed-ability youth orchestra to help develop fundamental conducting skills, under the expert guidance of Robert Pepper MBE.

You will work with a mixed-ability, school orchestra to develop conducting and rehearsing skills in a real musical setting. You will gain expert guidance and training in a series of conducting workshops focusing on the key aspects of conducting a mixed-ability instrumental ensemble. The number of participants is limited so that each receives plenty of opportunity for conducting practice and personalised feedback.
