Music in the classroom and the practice room is changing at a rapid rate due to increased pressures in the wider education system, updates in curricula and a changing demographic and interests.
In this session, we will hear from specialists in primary, secondary and instrumental/vocal teaching about what a typical day now looks like, how music is being taught and what students are learning. It offers insights into the learners who will be progressing from school into further and higher education to help those at their future institutions to better understand new intakes and ensure that their programmes are catering to the next generation.
The session will also help those looking to embark upon outreach to identify potential projects or areas for collaboration. After hearing from each specialist in turn, participants will be offered the opportunity to ask questions.
