Learners should be encouraged to ‘loop’ loops using their DAW’s repeat loop function (often found by clicking and dragging a corner of the region in question); copy and paste sections; and edit the length of loops accordingly.

It is worth emphasising that contemporary music tends to have repetitions in groups of 4, 8 or 16 when learners are structuring their compositions. Encourage a coherent structure with distinct sections.
