Curriculum Tutor (Maternity Cover)
Bury Music Service is looking for a dedicated and passionate curriculum tutor to join our experienced and welcoming team. Your role would be to deliver high-quality music curriculum teaching from EYFS to KS3 across schools within our borough.

Bury Music Service is looking for a dedicated and passionate curriculum tutor to join our experienced and welcoming team. Your role would be to deliver high-quality music curriculum teaching from EYFS to KS3 across schools within our borough. The ability to deliver singing tuition, whilst not essential would be welcomed.
Bury Music Service is a not-for-profit organisation and the leading provider of music education in Bury. We to deliver high-quality curriculum music, instrumental and vocal tuition, performance opportunities and inclusive music-making experiences for children and young people.
The current timetable includes:
- KS3 curriculum teaching every Monday and Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
- EYFS – KS2 Tuesday 9am – 3.15pm and Wednesday 11.30am – 2.45pm.
Additional opportunities may also be available within the role.
We are looking for candidates:
- With the ability to deliver high-quality and engaging music lessons from EYFS to KS3.
- Who can quickly establish positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Who can enthuse and motivate young people of all musical abilities and backgrounds.
- Who can adapt lessons and teaching approaches to meet the needs of different schools and learners.
- Who can maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour.
- To show dedication to the musical and personal development of our students.
We recognise that candidates may have strengths and experience within either the primary or secondary phase. Whilst the ideal candidate would be confident teaching across EYFS to KS3, we would also welcome applications from individuals with expertise in either primary music education or secondary music education.
Other key requirements:
- It is essential for applicants to hold a valid UK driving licence and have use of a car in order to travel between venues across Bury.
- An enhanced DBS check is required.
This is an employed position to cover maternity leave, with added benefits such as holiday pay, statutory sick pay and pension contributions, with the potential for further opportunities.
